What will the role involve?

  • Design and implement a talent strategy, which encompasses recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining employees.
  • Facilitate the smooth scaling of the company from 200 employees to 500+ employees in the next 4 years that supports rapid expansion, minimises complexity, and delivers a friction-free employee experience.
  • Key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), comfortable influencing and impacting the direction of the business. Provide strategic HR direction, acting as a trusted advisor and partner to the SLT. Plan and promote management and leadership development programs with a focus on coaching and succession.
  • Build the vision, strategy and roadmap for the HR and TA team.
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives as part of an ambitious HR Strategy that supports business objectives.
  • Build on successful employee retention, compensation & benefits, and engagement strategies that deliver a positive work environment for all the team.
  • Embed performance management practises across the company as part of establishing a high-performance culture.
  • Provide advice and guidance to senior managers on scaling and successfully structuring a team.
  • Devise an effective learning and development program strategy to support business objectives.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day HR management, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance

Skills, Education and Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience leading innovative, growing, fast-paced HR functions, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Executive experience on Senior Leadership Teams and comfortable to build business strategy.
  • You have effectively scaled a growing workforce (preferably from 100-500 or equivalent) and lead / rallied others behind a vision and built a robust team.
  • Proven ability to see the “broad picture” and operate strategically across all functions. You have a phenomenal blend of hands-on operational and design/strategy experience and have a deep understanding of strategic HR Management.
  • Constantly thinking about the future and seeing what’s ahead, spotting opportunities to take us to the next level as well as the road bumps. You can synthesise lots of complex information to come up with solutions with tangible impact.
  • Proficient in modern people strategies, and talent development. Ideally, you have implemented or worked with these for a period of time at a dynamic organisation.
  • Data informed and results focussed. Prior experience with both quantitative and qualitative data — tracking, measuring and evaluating outcomes to demonstrate impact.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate complicated details, simply and effectively, with individuals at all levels within the organisation.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to engage with personnel at all levels of employment.
  • High learning agility and dealing with ambiguity. Ability to organise and prioritise with limited guidance and a focus on delivering exceptional customer service experiences. This role would suit someone who is flexible, reacts quickly to change, comfortable in a fast-paced organisation, and has the ability to maintain a bigger picture perspective
