JWR are working with an exciting battery technology company in Galway to recruit a CNC Machinist.

About the Position:

Duties of the role include;

  • Produce high precision, quality injection mould tools and bespoke manufacturing machine equipment
  • Design and manufacture of electrodes and mould die inserts.
  • Ownership of 5S housing keeping ethos ensuring the CNC centre is a clean and safe working environment.
  • Manual machining (turning, milling, grinding).
  • Take responsibility for the day to day running of our new CNC machine centre.
  • Mentor and train junior members of the team, helping them to up skill as and when required.
  • Help to create and review the CNC Shop related work instructions.
  • Manage / support all the machine tooling equipment


Requirements

Skills and experience required:

  • Experienced CNC Machinist
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience on 3 and 5 axis CNC programming, preferably within injection mould tooling. (DMG and Mazak preference)
  • EDM Wire and Spark Erosion experience. (Sodick EDM experience preferred)
  • Experienced with Auto CAM software systems and tools. (Preferably with Solidworks)
  • Excellent trouble shooting ability to resolve all tooling issues quickly working in conjunction with our Mould design team.
  • Excellent Health and safety awareness and procedures.
  • Experience bench toolmaker – fitting, assemble, repair and service of all in-house designed mould tools Experience working with PFMEA and DFM.
  • Moldflow analysis experience
  • Familiarity of TS16949 Automotive quality standard.
  • The successful candidate must be willing to work shifts.
